about

I wrote this track with a heavy but hopeful heart in Amsterdam the winter of 2013.

lyrics

In Louisiana they are huddled close before a fire
Because it’s cold outside
But it’s not cold like here
On Jefferson a man is preaching
And people sing songs I would know
In Amsterdam, the church, they pray alone
And I don’t know where you’ve gone

Say this is where you’ll find me
This is where we’ll meet
Cause I’m all out of disguises
And the fire has lost its heat

So tell me all your tales and fables
Tell me of your Christ, your Lord
And I will show you all my idols bright
Say the people here tonight
But there’s a man is Dam Square dying
But he don’t know like all the rest
They drink and they are merry in the dark
And I don’t know where you are

Well I’ve been, I’ve been
Close enough to touch you
And I’ve run, I’ve run
Far enough to want you
And I’m both/and now
And I just have to see you here
And I just have to know you’re here tonight

Today I walked on down to Harlem
And I met someone there you love
We talked about you and I caught a glimpse
And so I went
And passed the coffee shops and windows
Went to where your name is known
And found your light in coldness and in dark
And I know you can’t be far

Say this is where you’ll find me
Stumbling through the streets
Where the found and the forgotten
And the saints and sinners meet
Say you will come and find me
Breathe life in the coals
For the fire is burning out here
In the January snow

Currently living and writing music in Poitiers, France, I hope this is the first album of many. ... more
